Hey Iain & Michelle,
As promised here's my review of your beautiful camper!
Everybody needs time off and I have been wanting to rent a camper to get away on a roadtrip for a long time. For somebody that loves driving and outdoors, campervan roadtrips tick all the boxes. I spent a good amount of time browsing the web and researching all the campers and my search has finished when I come across TFT Campervan Hire. There is a lot of VW buses out there but for someone who is 6ft tall, they aren't ideal so I knew T5, T6 was the one more suited for me. What separated you guys from others was that for one, your website is professional and therefore that's given you a massive advantage already as you look more trustworthy compared to others. Another massive advantage was that you allow under 25s to hire which not many offer (thanks guys for trusting a 23 year old!) On top of that I read the testimonials and it is from real people with pictures included and everybody was giving positive reviews. Plenty of pictures of the van and clear description of whats included when you hire.
Both Iain and Michelle are very friendly (didn't really get to say hi to you Michelle, next time!) and I enquired using the website and they have responded the following day. As somebody whos never hired a camper before, I have asked numerous questions and all got answered. Booking process was easy peasy.
The van was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The condition was exactly as shown on the website, super clean inside and out. Not at any point during our trip did we feel like were tired from driving or uncomfortable. I truly tested the tent on the roof, on our first night we stayed near Snowdon and the weather was crazy, I am talking seriously strong winds and heavy rain. Weather conditions couldn't get much worse but no water got in and no damage to the tent, it is super durable. The van is equipped and ready for absolutely everything, you have more then enough kitchen equipment and back up equipment for pretty much any scenario. From flat tyre to flat battery, bulbs, injury, fire and breakdown cover too (highly unlikely).
Thank you again for the hire, will definitely book again in the future and I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully next time around we will get some sunshine! We enjoyed our trip nonetheless.
Many Thanks, Michal
It's always lovely to hear our customers enjoyed their VW campervan experience. Our latest hirers drove from TFT Campervan Hire on the Derby/Nottingham border all the way to Glencoe in Scotland to take in the amazing scenery and enjoy a spot of golfing too.
"We just wanted to say many thanks for the loan of your beautiful camper. We had a lovely time and saw some beautiful scenery. Thank you for offering us such a professional friendly service."
As seasoned campers and regulars to the North West of Scotland, we're aware that the weather can always be a bit unpredictable so far North. Having weathered storms in our canvas tent in previous years (and not particularly enjoyed it!) we decided to go for an upgrade this year and looked around for something less likely to blow away, and stumbled across TFT Campers! We were delighted that we could also take our greyhound Jack along - he spent most of the trip asleep on the floor but seemed to have fun nonetheless.
From the outset, Michelle was extremely helpful - keeping in touch by email and phone and responding to our (many!) queries. The booking was all straight-forward, and collection was no hassle at all.
We started our trip with a stop-off just outside of Aviemore, in a campsite tucked within the forest. Setting up camp was easy compared to having a tent - pull the handbrake on, pop the roof up, and relax! After a comfortable night in the van we pressed on to North of Ullapool after a quick refuel in Inverness, having done nearly 550 miles without having to fill up!
We parked up with a fantastic view of the sea directly in front of us, but unfortunately the weather was not good - very strong winds and rain that was travelling horizontally. As the waves crashed against the shore, we decided to turn on the heater and make a couple of hot drinks in the comfort of the van.
Due to the bad weather we weren't able to catch the ferry across to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis the following day so instead we drove down the coast and crossed the bridge to the Isle of Skye. A power cut on the southern end of Skye meant the campsite had no hookups available to use, but we were quite self-sufficient having charged the batteries with all our driving about and were still able to have the lights on without plugging in.
After a sheltered night we then drove on to the north end of Skye and catch a ferry from Uig to Lochmaddy on North Uist. The crossing took just over an hour and a half, and we were rewarded with some amazing scenery and a stunning sunset as we drove down to South Uist for the night.
Unfortunately, a fierce storm was forecast to hit the islands and so we had to cut our stay short and catch a ferry back to the mainland and found a sheltered campsite near Loch Ness for a couple of nights.
We then headed over to one of our favourite places - Applecross, where we ate and drank in the pub before retiring back to the van for the night, having parked up by the road earlier on. We even managed to get breakfast in the pub the following morning before we set off down to Glencoe amidst stunning scenery and snow-capped mountains.
Our trip finished in the Lake District with views over Ullswater before a three and a half hour drive back down to unload the van and (sadly!) hand back the keys.
It was great to be able to visit so many places and not have the hassle of unpacking or setting up each time. Although we went to a lot of different places and did a lot of driving it still felt like a holiday, and we were comfortable no matter where we stopped - on a proper campsite with hook-up and facilities, or on the roadside by our favourite pub! Even the torrential rain and gale-force winds didn't dampen our spirits and I'd recommend a van from TFT to anyone - we got a lot of waves from other VW campers, and a lot of admiration of the van from other people as we travelled around.
We thoroughly enjoyed our November trip to sunny North Wales while the rest of the country was covered in fog. Michelle spent time explaining how everything works before we set off. She was also very helpful on our return when we discussed our plans for purchasing our own van. The campervan has everything you need and we and the dog were warm and toasty despite the frost outside. It was easy to drive and very economical. Loved getting a wave from other van owners when we passed on the road!

Everything was very efficiently dealt with in a friendly manner by Michelle. The van had all we needed, drove beautifully and was very clean.
